Since the advent of cinematic sound, the role of music in classic film and television has always been considerable.
With his "When You Wish Upon a Star" show, the ever-versatile guitarist Bill Frisell draws upon and celebrates the classic theme music we've heard on the large and small screens and how it shapes and informs our emotional relationships with them.
Sultry singer Petra Haden will be on vocals while Frisell and his band will re-imagine in their own inimitable way such time-honored gems as "When You Wish Upon a Star," "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "Moon River," "Goldfinger," the themes from "The Godfather" movies, "Psycho," and the beloved TV show themes like The Dick Van Dyke Show that we know and love.
"Frisell is a revered figure among musicians--like Miles Davis and few others, his signature is built from pure sound and inflection; an anti-technique that is instantly identifiable." -The Philadelphia Inquirer
