  • West St. Easton, MD 21601 USA (map)

Please join the Frederick Douglass Honor Society, the Talbot County Free Library and the Town of Easton, as we celebrate the life and legacy of Frederick Douglass, Saturday, September 24, 2016. The Frederick Douglass Day Committee is reaching out to our community through an extensive media campaign, and directly to churches, schools, community organizations, community stakeholders including local and state government and Maryland educational institutions. It is our hope to attract 400-500 participants, as in previous years.

The celebration will take place in downtown Easton, MD from 10 am until 4 pm, and will feature a variety of activities to educate and inspire the community about Frederick Douglass. The program will include a parade, which will begin promptly at 10 a.m. We will have live entertainment, educational speakers celebrating the life of Frederick Douglass, a Children’s Village, food vendors, craft vendors and our Knowledge Village of community organizations offering valuable information for our citizens. We have also included a walking tour of The Hill.

Everything will be open throughout the day.

All forms (and fees if applicable) must be received by August 19 th . Non-profit organizations may complete the form and email to Childlene Brooks at childleneb@atlanticbb.net by the deadline. For-profit vendors may mail their registration and check to the Frederick Douglass Honor Society, PO Box 2321, Easton, MD.

Vendors will be located in the Town of Easton Parking Lot, which is located directly across from the Talbot County Free Library. Once unloaded, vendors are welcome to park in the Town of Easton Parking Lot adjacent to the Talbot County Detention Center, which is also located on Dover Street. Please plan to be set-up by 9:45 a.m.

We hope that you will help us make our 6th Frederick Douglass Day a memorable experience for everyone.
