Bountiful’s Blue Moon Sale Grows To Three Tents
Attendance Expected To Break Last Year’s Record
Now in its 11th year, the Blue Moon Sale at Bountiful, has become an end-of–summer ritual that draws visitors from as far away as Washington DC and Baltimore. To celebrate the sale’s enduring popularity, Jamie Merida, who owns the Easton-based home furnishings store, will increase its size and scope this year by pitching an additional tent and adding a number of new vendors and importers.
The weekend long event that runs from Saturday August 22nd through Sunday August 23rd opens promptly at 9am each morning and closes promptly at 4pm. Although attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a place in line, no one, Merida explains, will be admitted to the tents before 9am. All home furnishings in the tents are sold at 50% off their regular retail price and come directly from Bountiful’s showroom or from the showroom samples of the store’s high-end vendors. Merida has also worked closely with some of the best vendors at the High Point, Atlanta and New York Home Furnishings Markets so that their overstock and one-of-a-kind pieces can be included in the sale. Because of their previous popularity, shoppers will also find additional offerings from Asian importers.
“We put all of our energy into one huge blowout sale a year and Blue Moon is that sale,” Merida explains. “We want to be able to offer our customers real value on a broad range of home furnishings and gifts, while we clear our showroom floor to make room for all of the exciting new things I just couldn’t resist buying at market.”
He adds: “One of the things we enjoy most about this sale is how much fun everyone who attends seems to have. It’s become a great opportunity for folks to catch up with their neighbors and friends as they scout the tents for terrific buys on beautiful home furnishings and gifts. As we enter the sale’s second decade, we too look forward to seeing old friends and welcoming new ones into the fold.”
