Wild & Scenic Film Festival

Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy (MRC) hosts the 6th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival (WSFF) on Friday, November 20 at 6pm at the Avalon Theatre in Easton, Maryland.

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival uses film as a powerful medium to educate, inspire, and motivate people and unite communities to heal the earth.  WSFF is a traveling festival that is grant-funded by Patagonia to allow non-profit organizations to bring select films to local areas across the country.  Each year, WSFF has an overarching theme that runs through each of its films. This year’s theme is “A Wild Life.”  MRC’s film slate is an hour-long program of short environmental films.

This year’s film festival will not only showcase inspiring nature films, but also present some of MRC’s current programs and projects with new videos highlighting, Students for Streams, a program funded through Maryland Department of Natural Resources and MRC’s latest agricultural video, filmed on farms where MRC has installed nutrient-reducing bioreactor technology.

MRC is pleased to again this year we will host a Children’s Film Festival at the Avalon Theatre on the morning of November 20 for local elementary school students.

As the sun sets and the evening begins, the Avalon Theatre will once again open their doors for a night you don’t want to miss.  Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception including an open bar with wine and beer and a buffet of delicious heavy appetizers and desserts .   Throughout the evening guests may bid on exciting silent auction items for the chance to win trips on the Bay, dinner at the Bartlett Pear, a weekend stay-cation in Annapolis, a cruiser bicycle, and more.

WSFF is one of MRC’s biggest fundraisers of the year;all proceeds support the ongoing work of Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy.
