Bountiful Joins the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Bountiful Interiors, Easton’s award-winning home furnishings store, has teamed up with Susan G. Komen Maryland to help raise awareness and funds for the organization’s fight against breast cancer. On Thursday October 22nd from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, Bountiful will host a “Pink Champagne & Cupcakes” event at the store, which is located at 218 N. Washington Street in Easton’s TalbotTown Shopping Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Jamie Merida, Bountiful’s owner says: “October is “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” and we are acutely aware of how devastating this disease can be. That’s why we’re hosting an event that is both informative and fun. We want to raise awareness about Breast Cancer as well as provide an opportunity for our customers and friends to ‘shop for the cause.’ Twenty percent of all of the retail sales made during the event will be donated to Susan G. Komen Maryland to support local grant, educational, and survivorship programs.”

The mission of Susan G. Komen is to save lives and end breast cancer by empowering others, ensuring quality care for all and investing in science to find cures. Lori Yates, Community Health Manager for the Eastern Shore & Southern Maryland explains: “Komen funds national cutting edge research, but we also support local people with community grant programs. US government statistics show that the State of Maryland has the 6th highest mortality rate from Breast Cancer in the country. The Eastern shore is a priority area for us, because community profile assessments always show it to be an area of high need for breast cancer care services.”

“We are delighted to partner with Bountiful and thank Jamie Merida and his staff for the opportunity to spotlight Breast Cancer issues and raise funds to support additional local services,” she adds.
